What will the role entail?
- Provide the highest standard of care to the children, ensuring all their needs are met.
- Participate in all activities including swimming, walks, educational activities, and trips out in the community.
- Support the children’s independence with everyday tasks and personal care.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, external professionals, and colleagues.
- Attend mandatory training courses and other recommended training to support your own development.
What is essential for the role?
The ideal candidate would be passionate about providing quality care and education for the children, have a willingness to learn, have patience and understanding and will ensure they always promote the safeguarding and welfare for the children.
Having an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or an equivalent would be desirable however not essential.
Hours of work?
Full time: 162.5 hours per month, working on a rolling 6-week shift pattern, with longer and shorter weeks. You will be working between the hours of 07:30 – 22:00.
Part time: 20 hours per week, across 2 days (one or both days of the weekend), working between the hours of 07:30 – 22:00.

Training & development at Loddon
We want to give you the best opportunity to learn hands on, how to do your role to the highest standard. Initially you will receive 4 weeks of training where you will shadow an experienced member of the team to allow you to learn and build relationships with the children. You will also attend weekly induction training sessions to support you with your new role.
It doesn’t stop there though, throughout your career at Loddon you will continuously receive training and support to help you develop, as well as having access to numerous courses.
Salary
The salary is based on full time employment and is dependent on qualifications and experience within similar settings.
The hourly rate for this role is between £11.52 – £12.16.
